Hurricanes top SU, 62-57, despite 22 points from White, at the Barclays Center.

In what some considered a must-win for the Syracuse men’s basketball team (18-14), Miami (21-10) seemingly locked up its spot in the NCAA Tournament with a 62-57 victory. Contrary, Syracuse loses once again in the ACC Tournament (0-3) and more importantly jeopardizes its tournament hopes come Sunday.

Graduate transfer tallies 40 points on senior day as Orange top Yellow Jackets, 90-61.

For a few minutes, it looked like Georgia Tech (17-14, 8-10) was going to give Syracuse men’s basketball a taste of its own medicine. Syracuse had a 12-point lead at halftime – an advantage that was as large as 16 points with over a minute left in the first half. But, this time it seemed as if the Yellow Jackets would be the second half comeback team.

After a Ben Lammers layup, a Tadric Jackson made jumper, a 3-pointer from Quinton Stephens, and a layup from Josh Okogie, Georgia Tech cut the Syracuse lead to just three points, 38-35, with 17:40 left to play.

SU guard totals game-high 26 points, banks in game-winning 3-pointer as time expires

John Gillon hesitated a split second before dribbling up the court for Syracuse’s final possession against Duke on Wednesday night.

With the score tied at 75 and eight seconds remaining in regulation, Blue Devils guard Luke Kennard missed a jumper that would have given his team a late lead. Syracuse forward Tyler Lydon corralled the rebound and kicked the ball out to guard Tyus Battle, who swung it cross court to Gillon.

SU comes back from a seven-point deficit in the final minutes of regulation to force overtime, but falls to the Cardinals, 76-72

The Syracuse men’s basketball team (16-11, 8-6 ACC) came back from a seven-point deficit with a little more than two minutes remaining in regulation to force overtime, and then cut an eight-point deficit with 40 seconds left in overtime to just two, but ultimately couldn't finish the job, falling to No. 8 Louisville (21-5, 9-4 ACC) 76-72 on Monday night.

Melo, the 2012 Big East Defensive Player of the Year, averaged 7.8 points and 2.9 blocks per game as a sophomore at SU.

Former Syracuse center Fab Melo died today at the age of 26, according to multiple reports. He was found at his home in Brazil. 

Melo, a 7-foot center, played two seasons for the Orange from 2010-12. As a sophomore, he appeared in 30 games for SU and averaged 7.8 points, 5.8 rebounds and 2.9 blocks per game. He was the Big East Defensive Player of the Year that season.

In a rematch of last season’s Elite Eight, Syracuse mounted another thrilling second-half comeback to upset Virginia, 66-62, and notch head coach Jim Boeheim’s unofficial 1,000th career win.

SU tops the Seminoles, 82-72, for first victory over ranked opponent this season

If there was one word to describe Syracuse's matchup against Florida State on Saturday afternoon, it’d be perseverance. It was displayed by both teams, but ultimately the Orange came out on top.

SU overcomes halftime deficit to top Demon Deacons, 81-76, at the Carrier Dome

After dropping two straight games away from the Carrier Dome, Syracuse men’s basketball returned home and topped Wake Forest, 81-76, on Tuesday night.

Andrew White III led the Orange with 27 points and Taurean Thompson added 18 points to give Syracuse a winning boost following an 18-point loss at Notre Dame.

SOUTH BEND, IN. — After losing its first ACC game earlier this week to Florida State, Notre Dame captured a big conference win against Syracuse in front of its home crowd on Saturday afternoon.

Orange defense forces 20 BC turnovers in 76-53 win at the Carrier Dome.

On New Year’s Day, Boston College picked apart Syracuse’s 2-3 zone and cruised to a 15-point victory in its ACC opener. When the teams met again on Saturday afternoon, the roles were reversed.

The Orange (11-7, 3-2 ACC) locked down Boston College at the Carrier Dome, forcing 20 turnovers and registering 11 steals. The Eagles (9-9, 2-3 ACC) shot just 39.6 percent from the field and the Orange pulled away early in the second half, coasting to a 76-53 victory. SU has now won three of its last four.
