Chocolate lovers venture out in a snowstorm for sweet treats

The snow didn't stop those with a sweet tooth from going to A Taste of Chocolate at the Columbian Presbyterian Church in LaFayette on Saturday.

Chocolate is one of the few things that could get 100 people out to Columbian Presbyterian Church during a Saturday snowstorm.

Tom Redmore, an elder at Columbian Presbyterian Church in LaFayette, started A Taste of Chocolate six years ago after trying to come up with a new fundraising idea and seeing how much money people spent on Valentine’s Day every year.

Many attendees of the Central New York Wine and Chocolate Festival found the event overwhelming and unorganized.

For Colleen Feeney, Rachel Gullotta and Erin Marsden, all from Syracuse, the large amount of distilleries and wineries at the 10th annual AmeriCU Credit Union Wine and Chocolate Festival was overwhelming.

“It’s a little difficult to find which one to go to,” Gullotta said. 

The Exhibit Center of the New York State Fairgrounds was the site of the festival Saturday evening.

Hello again, aspiring vegans! Spring has sprung! Sort of. Syracuse is a few weeks behind the rest of the country, but as we roll into April the temperature will rise to a sweltering 50 degrees (or we'll get another freak snowstorm - either way).

According to my Facebook newsfeed, this week is Passover and this coming weekend is Easter. And what are holidays without a little something to nosh on?  Don’t worry though, we’ll definitely keep the bunnies and chicks in dark chocolate form.

Hunting for the best chocolatier at London's annual Chocolate Festival

There are three things that I consider myself an expert on: acclimating myself to new cultures, shoes, and chocolate.

This past weekend marked the second annual Chocolate Festival in Central London. For three whole days, it was non-stop chocolate in London-town.
