Hill's Kitchen blogger Beth Lindly ventured to Rochester to experience the popup of Luke's Diner.

I’ll admit it: I have not been a fan of Gilmore Girls for very long. I started watching the show during my senior year of undergrad (about a year and a half ago) and I only finished it up earlier this year. I’m sure I’ve liked it longer than some people, but still – for a show that’s been around since 1999, it took a little while for me to jump on the train. But once I did, I was all in. (Get it, GG fans? Do you get it?)

It’s 6:30 a.m. on a recent Wednesday, and Picasso’s Pastries and Cafe smells of French bread and apple tarts.

As veganism becomes more prevalent on the Syracuse University campus, Strong Hearts Cafe and Café Kubal offer carefully crafted menu items without any animal products.

Interviews with students and local merchants indicate that a new nutritional trend — going vegan — is taking hold at Syracuse University. Featuring fresh and healthier foods without any kind of animal byproducts, veganism is now a behavior that many students embrace. As a result, several cafes close to campus are now including vegan items their menus.

Vegan café to open a second location where Syra-Juice once operated.

Strong Hearts Café, one of a few vegan-only eateries in Syracuse, has announced that it will be opening a second location – and a familiar one, too.

In coming weeks, "Strong Hearts On The Hill" will open for business at 720 University Ave.  a spot once home to the popular lunch spot, Syra-Juice.
