The concert featured two opening acts before the EDM artist took the stage

On the night of Nov. 11, the walls of the Goldstein Auditorium shook, leaking dance and electronic music into the streets of Syracuse. University Union, a Syracuse University student organization, had outdone themselves organizing the 2017 Bandersnatch Concert Series. The headliner was Mura Masa, a European artist whose music lies between the genres of electropop and nu-disco.

Syracuse University’s original DIY venue is long gone, but not quite forgotten.

The drinks, cheap. The music, loud. The times, interesting.

From 1969 to 1985, the current location of the Maker Space in Syracuse University’s Kimmel Hall was known as the Jabberwocky Cafe or "Jab" for short. Known for several murals on the walls themed after Lewis Carroll's "Alice in Wonderland," the on-campus bar and music venue borrowed its name from "The Jabberwocky," a poem written by Carroll about the slaying of the mythical Jabberwock.

Review: EDM DJs Hotel Garuda opened and Sam Feldt finished what was truly a memorable sold-out Bandersnatch concert.

Virtually every song Sam Feldt played during University Union’s first Bandersnatch concert of the year was met with dancing from the college kids that came to see the 23-year-old perform.

An aura of happiness followed the young DJ, who headlined the concert Wednesday night. Feldt performed for well over an hour, periodically slowing down the current song he was mixing to thank the audience. His presence and masterful mixing impressed everyone in the room.

University Union’s indie concert series brings artists wise beyond their years.

Sitting cross-legged on the ground wearing the skinniest of skinnies, cowboy-esque boots and a silk baseball jacket, 19-year-old Raury awaits his grand entrance. Three bars in he bolts on stage, snags the microphone and the crowd erupts. He meets the roar with the opening lines of “Forbidden Knowledge” from his recently dropped album All We Need.

From the South to Syracuse, the artists fused electronic dance music with southern style rap for an unforgettable ending to University Union's final Bandersnatch concert of the year.

Southern rapper Isaiah Rashad headlined the event and captivated the audience with his ability to transition from performing smooth soulful songs to raw raps over southern beats. Rashad says he finds his inspiration in spontaneity and from movies such as Spike Lee's "Do The Right Thing". Rashad signed with California based, independent record label Top Dawg Entertainment in 2013 and says that, "it's very inspiring...It's a family, we work and chill together".
