DJ Sam Feldt, EDM duo Hotel Garuda to open Bandersnatch

The DJs and EDM artists will open University Union’s Bandersnatch Concert Series on Oct. 12.

Dutch DJ Sam Feldt will open this year’s Bandersnatch Concert Series, with DJ-producer duo Hotel Garuda providing support, University Union announced Monday night in a press release.

The concert will take place at 8 p.m. on Oct. 12 in the Schine Underground. Tickets — which are $5 with a valid college ID for SU/ESF students, faculty and staff — are available through the Schine Box Office starting Tuesday at 11 a.m.

The 20-something Feldt has earned a following through the regular mixtapes he shares on SoundCloud, released under the name Heartfelt Radio. Now signed with Spinnin’ Records, he is known for such remixes as “Show Me Love” and “Midnight Hearts.” In response to his cover of "Show Me Love" featuring London singer-songwriter Kimberly Anne, Billboard called Feldt "a modern house superstar.”

Hotel Garuda consists of Manila Killa and Candle Weather. Although the two met in middle school in Indonesia, their musical partnership is still fairly young. The group formed about three years ago and was then named one of the top 10 artists to watch in 2014 by Ultra. They also climbed to the No. 1 spot on The Hype Machine several times for their remixes of “Rhythm of the Night,” “Ultraviolence” and “Begging for Thread.”
