UPDATE at 10 p.m., Tuesday
Thanks to the hundreds of Syracuse University students, faculty members and staff who participated in the first National News Engagement Day today.
The Newhouse School played host to a bevy of activities to encourage students across campus to stay in the know.
The event was created by the Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication with the idea of prioritizing the news. Throughout the day, the AEJMC asks students to read, watch, listen and share the news.
SU students who chose to participate had a chance to win prizes, pet some pups and eat free food. See many of the highlights from the day below:
Blueprints is a behind-the-scenes look at TheNewsHouse.com and how we work. What did it take to pull off a feature? What influences our decisions about how a story be reported or presented? Blueprints is produced by the writers, editors, photographers, and storytellers of TheNewsHouse staff.
