Hundreds of thousands of New York voters made their voices heard on Election Day 2010, keeping Democrats in power within the state while Republicans took control nationally in the U.S. House of Representatives.
Students from Syracuse University's S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications arrived at polling places throughout Onondaga County in teams as early as 4:30 a.m. and stayed throughout Election Day. Journalism students produced work for an experimental first-time venture called Democracy in Action.
