At least three Syracuse students took a knee during a pre-game national anthem last week.

Three Nottingham High School football players knelt during the national anthem before a game in Auburn last Friday, joining the silent protest started by Colin Kaepernick to raise awareness about injustices against people of color.

“We know what we stand for, or kneel for,” said senior linebacker Jakev Jackson, who raised his fist and bowed his head as three of his teammates knelt on the ground.

Star wide receiver ranks third nationally in receiving yards, added to Biletnikoff Award Watch List

Amba Etta-Tawo burst onto the scene for the Syracuse football team. Now, the redshirt senior is receiving national attention.

Etta-Tawo, a transfer from Maryland, was added to the Biletnikoff Award Watch List on Wednesday. The Biletnikoff Award is given annually to the nation’s top collegiate receiver, regardless of position.

SU jumps out to 17 point lead in first quarter, but scores on just one other possession as USF pulls away

The Syracuse Orange’s offense racked up more yards, first downs, and even had longer possession time than their opponent, the South Florida Bulls, on Saturday afternoon at the Carrier Dome. However, USF (3-0) beat Syracuse where it mattered, winning 45-20 off the strength of three touchdowns by senior wide receiver Rodney Adams.

Cardinals score 20 unanswered points in fourth quarter to pull away from the Orange

The Syracuse Orange football team’s chance to pull an upset quickly slipped away against the No.13 Louisville Cardinals on Friday night.

With a final score of 62-28, the Cardinals stay undefeated, while the Orange drop to 1-1 on the season and 0-1 in ACC play.

“We’re bruised, we’re not broken,” SU head coach Dino Babers said in his postgame press conference. “We’ll come back.”

Now that National Signing Day is in the books, Syracuse’s 2016 class stands at 20 signees. This doesn’t mean that Dino Babers and his staff are done searching for talent just yet. Babers said in his press conference on Wednesday they will continue to look at unsigned athletes and noted that SU will need all the able-bodied players it can get. He even joked about seeing what he could get out of the fraternities on campus.

Orange punter receives award, while quarterback avoids further punishment.

Riley Dixon played the role of hero against Villanova on Friday night, and today the Atlantic Coast Conference recognized him for his efforts.

The ACC named the Syracuse punter/placeholder its Co-Specialist of the Week on Tuesday afternoon, along with Louisville's Corvin Lamb.

Villanova head coach ready to start season against Syracuse.

Andy Talley has won 204 games as the head football coach at Villanova University. But even after 29 years at the helm, he has no answer for the hostile environment that awaits the Wildcats this Friday night.

Talley spoke to the media Monday morning during the Colonial Athletic Association's weekly coaches teleconference. He spoke of the various challenges his squad will face during its season-opening clash with Syracuse.

In what has become a yearly tradition, SU opened practice for an afternoon dedicated to fans that support the team each season. This year, more than 1,500 attended the event.
