Two Friday games and a date with the defending national champions highlight the home slate.

On Tuesday, Syracuse Athletics released the full 2014 schedule for the Syracuse University football team. SU is preparing for its second season as a member of the Atlantic Coast Conference.

The Orange will host a pair of Friday night games: the season-opener against Villanova on Aug. 29 and a Big East reunion with Louisville on Oct. 3 in the team's first ACC matchup. The latter will be televised by ESPN.

Chancellor Syverud addresses speculation about renovating the stadium or building an arena off campus

With rumors of a new arena rapidly spreading, Syracuse University Chancellor Kent Syverud released a statement addressing the topic on Tuesday night.

Syverud made several comments to syracuse.com discussing the possibility of a new arena that would be built off campus on Monday and addressed his comments in the statement.

ESPNU's "All-Access" visited Syracuse last week while the team prepared for a game. The program aired twice on Sept. 25.

Syracuse football is in the middle of a new era as first year head coach Scott Shafer guides the program in a new direction this season. ESPNU conducted filming an inside look on how Syracuse was preparing for it's game against Tulane on Sept. 21.

SU head coach Scott Shafer and PSU coach Bill O'Brien won't choose between each of their respective quarterbacks until just before the first regular season game at MetLife Stadium on Aug. 31.

With the first game of the season a little over a week away, both Syracuse coach Scott Shafer and Penn State coach Bill O’Brien are remaining silent on which quarterback will take the season’s first snap.

So far, it’s been a preseason cloaked in mystery for both the Orange and Nittany Lions.

The last time Syracuse football took the field for a live game, the Orange manhandled West Virginia in blizzard conditions at Yankee Stadium during the 2012 New Era Pinstripe Bowl.

A group of 120 members of the media voted the Syracuse football team to finish 6th in the Atlantic division in its first year of ACC play.

The Syracuse University football team took part in its first Atlantic Coast Conference Kickoff this week, a two-day media event held in Greensboro, N.C.

It was also a first for new head coach Scott Shafer, who takes over this season for Doug Marrone. Shafer said the rest of the conference has been very welcoming to him and his team.

A recently-fired media director for the SU athletic department is at the center of a unlawful surveillance case involving over 100 student-athletes

The former Syracuse University athletics media director pleaded not guilty Tuesday to the charges he secretly videotaped athletes in the locker room from the spring of 2010 to fall 2012. 

Prosecutors charged Roger Springfield, 57, with four counts of unlawful surviellence. The videos were taken in the locker room of the football and men's lacrosse team, and involves at least 108 male victims, according to Onondaga County District Attorney William Fitzpatrick.

Although he coached at Syracuse for only four seasons, former head football coach Doug Marrone helped revitalize a fading program.

It was only a matter of time before another team decided it needed Doug Marrone’s help. Eight days after leading the Syracuse football team to its second bowl victory in three years, Marrone accepted the head coaching position at the Buffalo Bills.

Of the 300-plus players at Lucas Oil Stadium from Feb. 22-28, four will be former Orange players

SU Athletics announced Wednesday that defensive end Chandler Jones, tight end Nick Provo, safety Phillip Thomas and offensive lineman Andrew Tiller were all invited to the 2012 NFL Combine. The event, which occurs every year before the NFL Draft, is set to be held in Indianapolis from Feb. 22-28 at Lucas Oil Stadium.
