Review: Indie rockers Ra Ra Riot played an intimate, unforgettable show for its alma mater in Setnor Auditorium on Wednesday night.

From beginning to end, the show was captivating and special. Taking the same stage that many of the band members had performed on as Syracuse students proved to breathe a unique energy into the show.

Review: Hometown heroes and SU alums provide a top-level performance Thursday while reminiscing a bit about how it all started.

A full house of college-aged students and Syracuse locals played a game of patience. They waited to see Ra Ra Riot's performance for nearly three hours after The Westcott Theater doors opened last night, but the group's passionate and energetic delivery of a wholesome setlist, lasting a little over an hour, was well worth the wait.

The SU alums come through the area three times before the semester ends to highlight the remaining spring concert calendar.

The local concert calendar has finally picked up for the stretch run. Thirty-eight days remain in the semester and at least 28 shows (OK, 26 pre- the official semester's end) exist that are worth seeing in CNY... and there are even more than that. To help navigate how to spend your last music viewing month, here are three recommendations:

The iSchool is looking for a mixtape of SU artists to hype at SXSW, here are three quick suggestions from Otto-Tune.

Syracuse's social media presence has been making things happen for quite some time now and this week they came up with another great idea for the iSchool's upcoming SXSW Orange Influencers party:

Ra Ra Riot's recent Wescott show announcement headlines the music happenings impacting SU within the last two weeks.

Close relationship with Syracuse remains a constant in college rock heroes' unpredictable ascent.

Ra Ra Riot’s current producer Andrew Maury once told me the reason you have to see the band live is because its energy alone is a “captivating spectacle.”

Review: SU's most famous indie rockers returned to campus to start their tour to support 'The Orchard.'

It wasn’t a surprise that the hottest spot for the first Friday night of the SU academic year was Marshall Street. Both Chuck’s and Faegan’s recently made a pretty heavily circulated list of the best college bars in the country after all. The real event to be at however was just below. That’s where hometown heroes Ra Ra Riot returned to perform an intimate, sold-out show at Funk N’ Waffles to kick-off their upcoming North American tour.

The fall concert calendar is building up strength and the Otto-Tune blog heads out on a special project tonight.

Summer is a time for festival travel and weekends to the city to catch your favorite band of the moment. You don't have that kind of access to the current must-see acts during most semesters in Syracuse. However, like this past spring session, this fall is slowly turning into something special ... particularly if you enjoy indie rock.

Even Snooki got involved in the past few weeks of music blogs.

Despite the disappointment surrounding rumors of Kid Cudi falling through, there has been a surprisingly high amount of good shows announced around CNY in recent weeks.

The start of 2010 brings about more news on Phantogram (plus a chance to see them) and a few other local best-of lists from '09.

Thought the passing of '09 would mark the end for our Phantogram love here?
