On the eve of finding out which bowl game they will be playing in, Marcus Spruill and Steve Rene were arrested on Euclid Ave. on Saturday night.

Two SU football players were arrested Saturday, including its starting linebacker.

Defensive standout Marcus Spruill and Steve Rene were arrested last night. Spruill was charged with disorderly conduct and second-degree harassment while Rene was charged with resisting arrest and disorderly conduct.

Rene and Spruill were arrested after police arrived on Euclid to find Rene in middle of the street yelling at people, Sgt. Tom Connellan of the Syracuse Police Department told the Post-Standard.

Almost a year after sexual abuse allegations arose about the former men's basketball assistant, Prosecutors announce that there isn't sufficient evidence to continue the investigation.

Former SU basketball assistant coach Bernie Fine will not be charged after accusations of child-molestation were raised last year, federal prosecuters said on Nov. 9.

But he’s not acting.

“I think this is one of those rare jobs where there’s not a lot of separation between who I am here and who I am at home,” Kirst said in an interview in the cafeteria of The Post-Standard building in downtown Syracuse. What you see is what you get, he said.
