On Saturday, members from the Syracuse University community gathered in the Carrier Dome for Relay for Life, as a way of honoring both cancer survivors and those who died from the disease.

Relay for Life kicked off at 6 p.m. on Saturday and did not end until 6 a.m. the following day. A lot of people from the Syracuse community came out to the Carrier Dome to support the event that aims to find a cure for cancer.

SU theater group First Year Players performed its spring show in Goldstein Auditorium April 4-6.

The first weekend in April, Syracuse University First Year Players theater group performed musical The Wedding Singer with Newhouse television, radio and film freshman Zack Phillips playing the lead role of Robbie Hart.

First-year students shine in the Tony-award winning musical, "The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee."

There was hardly an open seat on the floor of the Goldstein Auditorium as the First Year Players opened their rendition of “The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee.” The actors' vibrant performances were the strong point of the single act, two-hour play.


“The Spelling Bee” is about pre-teens, complete with stereotypical personalities, trying to win their county's top spelling competition. It's a musical sprinkled with humor and has been preformed on Broadway, as well as by theater groups all over the world.

First Year Players stage its largest flash mob to promote its spring musical, 'Dirty Rotten Scoundrels.'

When Syracuse University students ordered lunch at the Schine Student Center cafeteria on Monday, they didn’t expect a side of music, marching and marketing.

At about 12:37 p.m., SU’s First Year Players staged its largest flash mob of the year.

Flash mobs involve gathering a large group of people in a public place to perform or engage in an unusual activity.

A 'flash mob' staged by a Syracuse musical theater group provides the student center with an impromptu dance performance.

About a dozen Syracuse University students stopped people in their tracks Thursday afternoon with a “flash mob” dance performance at the Schine Student Center.

Flash mobs involve gathering a large people in a public place to perform or engage in an unusual activity. In 2008, dozens of students descended on the Quad to make snow angels.
