In defense of the How I Met Your Mother series finale

After nine seasons and countless stories of friendship and relationships to cherish, the series finale to HIMYM was upsetting to a vocal faction yet legendary to all. Warning: Spoilers Ahead.

The hour-long series finale of CBS’s hit romantic comedy How I Met Your Mother aired Monday night, ending with a twist that many didn’t see coming. It was a curveball met with howls of frustration on Twitter and downright vitriolic critical outrage. But as the episode concluded, it wasn’t the television screen at which I sat staring, mouth agape, dumbfounded. It was my Twitter feed.

A reverend, rabbi and Muslim comic walked into Hendricks Chapel on Friday, filling it with laughter.

There was nothing but laughter and smiling faces in Hendricks Chapel Friday afternoon as the Lutheran Campus Ministry at Syracuse University and SUNY ESF partnered with Hillel and the Muslim Student Union to bring The Laugh in Peace Comedy Tour.

Growing numbers of ladies are joining Syracuse University campus comedy organizations to bring on the laughs.

Last year, Sarah Schuster was holding one of her first writers’ meetings for the The Kumquat, Syracuse University’s satire news network, when she realized something odd.

“I looked around me and realized I was the only girl in the room,” she said. “I was the person in charge, but, being female, I was clearly a minority.”

The SNL head writer and comedian performed his own material, as well as some SNL favorites, in Goldstein Auditorium on Wednesday night.

A sold-out Goldstein Auditorium welcomed Saturday Night Live head writer Seth Meyers with uproarious applause on Wednesday night.

The laughs started immediately when he “mistakenly” greeted the crowd as Indiana University, Syracuse’s latest basketball rivalry in Sweet 16 round of the NCAA tournament. Meyers then gave shout-outs to each class, spending extra time with the juniors, calling them “the dicks of every college campus.” Although he successfully insulted a portion of the audience, he was off to a great start.

The SNL star will visit Goldstein Auditorium for "An Evening of Comedy" on Wednesday March 27.

Comedian Seth Meyers will perform in Schine Student Center's Goldstein Auditorium March 27, campus programming board University Union announced Sunday via Twitter.

Meyers is currently the head writer at Saturday Night Live, and the host of SNL's parody news show Weekend Update. He joined the cast in 2001, and has been a host of Weekend Update for six seasons.

The evocative music that runs through the comedic webseries is the effective result of SU student collaborations.

As bottles of Guinness and Bud Light are cleared away and a bright yellow piece of paper expands across the wooden table, fans of the web show, Howard Rights His Wrongs, can hear the theme song kick in as the episode begins.  What fans may not have known, is that the theme song along with the musical underscore, was created by Syracuse University students.
