A graduate of the architecture school designs Blueprint Blazer for a crowdfunding website.

Brandon Stevens, a 2011 graduate from Syracuse University School of Architecture, is putting his design skills to the test – not in building, but in fashion.

He’s the proud maker of the Blueprint Blazer, a piece designed for on-the-go architects.  The stylish, yet functional, frock incorporates all things important to today’s modern architect: polish and precision.

Post-Standard intern and Art Journalism graduate student Alejandra Acuna gives the skinny about covering fashion in Syracuse.

Syracuse Fashion Weekend has quickly become the talk of town. I was at the event as a journalist, a fashion-lover, and a student all at the same time, which gave me a new perspective to the intertwined limbs of culture, style, and education. Syracuse is a city that is sprouting with talent trying to find a new angle in the creative world of runways.

Being an intern for The Post-Standard has put me in some pretty awesome situations. On Friday, my task was to cover Syracuse Fashion Weekend, and it has been quite the adventure.

Anxious to escape monochrome winter fashion? Neons and bold black and white stripes are around the corner.

If you're like me, you are extremely impatient for warmer weather and sunny skies to start appearing. Along with better weather, I can't wait to ditch my unflattering black parka in exchange for jackets, sandals and t-shirts. It seems as thought the fashion world has heard my pleas for happier clothes, and it has responded by tossing in every bright, intense color imaginable in a storm of pinks, greens, reds and blues, and it's also throwing in some bold black and white stripes to the mix. Welcome to Spring 2013 ladies (and gentlemen, I suppose).

After everyone goes home with their golden statues, who wins the real award - Best Dressed?

Now that all the Oscar winners and losers have packed up their frothy sequined dresses, who won the most important award of all - best dressed?

To get started in this most important assesment, I've broken it down into categories: first, the winners.

Winners:

Naomi Watts - Armani Privé

The beautiful, albeit unusual architectural detailing on the shoulder make this dress an Oscar contender.

Creatures of the Wind and Richard Chai Love lead the pack for the fall 2013 collections.

The Fall 2013 season kicked off yesterday in NYC with BCBG Max Azria, Creatures of the Wind, Richard Chai Love, and Rachel Comey as some of the standouts from the first day.

Creatures of the Wind were lauded for their sparkly Tabitha Simmons/Swarovski collaboration shoes, with popular fashion news site Fashionista proclaiming the clothes the most "cohesive, mature and wearable" that the team has made to date. Richard Chai took a different route than he normally does and went with a more buttoned-up, military-style collection.

In a pinch to find a Halloween ensemble? Here are three ideas that take minimal effort and cash.

Not everyone wants to dress like a slut on Halloween.

In college, it’s expected that most girls will dress up as some variation of cat, cop, witch or any current pop culture reference that allows them to wear the least amount of clothes. In October.

In Syracuse, the common sight is half naked girls (and guys) strutting the streets shivering and shuffling to the next party just to warm up. Guys and girls: if you’re searching for a last minute costume, here are some options that will save your dignity and keep your body temperature up.
