Rappers bring spitting image to Goldstein Friday

A$AP Rocky, ScHoolboy Q to headline annual Greek Unity Fest concert.

A$AP Rocky and ScHoolboy Q will be spitting rhymes to Syracuse University students on Friday, April 6 in Goldstein Auditorium.

Each year, SU’s National Pan-Hellenic Council, which is comprised of historically black fraternal organizations, unite to bring awareness to the campus on a variety of topics. This year, the two rappers will be the guest performers at their annual Greek Unity Fest concert. The show starts at 8 p.m. - doors open at 6:30 p.m. – and all proceeds go to the Dunbar Center.

You may have never heard their names, seen them flow, or heard their lyrics but these are upcoming rappers to be on the lookout for. The buzz surrounding A$AP Rocky grew with the release of LiveLoveA$AP last fall. The mixtape, which featured ScHoolboy Q, earned him a 2012 BBC Sound nomination. ScHoolboyQ has also released a mixtape and while their styles differ, concerts like this Friday’s are expected to have a huge turnout because both are unapologetically original in their music.

Tickets are available at Schine Box Office for $7 with SU ID, $10 without SU ID and a $15 package deal that includes concert, step show and an after party, the last two occurring on Saturday.
