1. WHAT WILL DAFT PUNK DO NEXT?
The godfathers of electronic dance music are sure to surprise Coachella Weekend 2 attendees with another sneak peak at their highly anticipated album Random Access Memories. In case you missed it, last weekend the duo showed a trailer of “Get Lucky featuring Pharrell Williams & Nile Rodgers.
The single debuted last night at midnight Eastern Time. Perhaps it'll be remixed in the Sahara tent later this weekend or maybe Daft Punk will do the unthinkable and play with their friends Phoenix instead... we will just have to wait and see.
Also, be sure to watch the Creators Project webisodes featuring all the collaborators who are working with Daft Punk on their forthcoming album.Pharell’s is quite interesting, especially when he starts talking about the future of Daft Punk: “We’re lucky to hang out on the planet they could just get back on the spaceship that brought them here and go. But they’re gracious, nice robots. They chose to stay.”
2. R. KELLY IGNITES PHOENIX
(but we all wish it was Daft Punk, let's be real)
We all love the song “Ignition” but would you ever think to hear it along slide alternative rock Frenchmen Phoenix, probably not. Nonetheless R. Kelly made his way out during Phoenix’s headlining performance last Saturday, which resulted in a surprisingly good remix.
Will he be making a comeback? Wonder how it might work with his 4/20 plans...
3. JOHN LEGEND'S INTO EDM, SINCE WHEN?
During Benny Benassi’s set last Saturday, John Legend made an expected appearance playing a new song with Benassi called “Dance the Pain Away.” I’m sure Legend will comeback to the desert to please Weekend 2 guests, but the real question is will he play with PUSHA T (and maybe even Kanye)?
Check out the new song here.
4. WHICH WORKAHOLICS STAR WILL VENTURE OUT TO THE DESERT NEXT?
5. BEYONCE’S LITTLE SISTER – SOLANGE – MAKES SURPRISE APPEARANCE.
Solange Knowles, baby sister of Mrs. Carter, made her debut appearance at Coachella with alternative band The xx during their set Saturday on the Main Stage. If you don’t know much about Solange’s music definitely check out funk-a-delic track “Losing You.”
Wonder if she’ll be back or if The xx will bring out another special guest.
