If you're looking for something rockin' to do this weekend, a mosey over to Manlius might fit the bill. The Manlius Art Cinema will begin screening Davis Guggenheim's documentary "It Might Get Loud" tonight, with showings running until October 1.
If Guggenheim's name sounds familiar, it's because he also directed 2006's "An Inconvenient Truth." But this time around, he tackles something a little more lighthearted; "It Might Get Loud" is a tribute to the electric guitar and stars Jimmy Page (The YardBirds, Led Zeppelin), Jack White (The White Stripes, The Raconteurs, The Dead Weather) and The Edge (U2), who all discuss their affection for the instrument and jam out along the way.
The film originally premiered in 2008 at the Toronto Film Festival, and was finally put into wide release last month. Yay for music fans everywhere! Sound interesting? Check out the trailer and showtimes -- and maybe I'll see ya there.
