The wait is nearly over -- the Juice Jam Music Festival is only two days away.
All week, campus has been abuzz as students picked up their official Juice Jam 2013 tank tops and participated in Juice Jam artist trivia contests hosted by the UU.
This year’s lineup features Kendrick Lamar, the second-most-requested headliner from the University Union’s Juice Jam survey, released by the University’s OIRA last May. And if ticket sales are any indication, SU students must be eagerly anticipating the kickoff of the outdoor music fest -- tickets to the festival sold out (9,500 in total) last Thursday afternoon.
“We worked hard this year to produce a Juice Jam reflecting changing student interest,” said Billy Ceskavich, UU organization president.
“We are all so pleased to have seen a well received show sell out so quickly,” Ceskavich said.
There is, however, good news for students who are still looking to snag a ticket: the UU still has a few tickets to give away.
Enter the UU ticket Juice Jam Ticket Giveaway on their website and keep an eye on the SU University Union Twitter through Sunday for last-minute ticket giveaways to the festival.
Along with main-stage headliner Kendrick Lamar, festival performers include Nicky Romero, The Neighbourhood, Robert DeLong, Ab-soul and Smallpools over two stages, making this year’s Juice Jam Fest the biggest and first multi-stage festival style concert in its history.
Sunday’s Juice Jam Festival inaugurates a great Fall semester of live music at SU, which will also feature a performance from alt-hip-hop pair Twenty One Pilots at Goldstein Auditorium on Oct. 3, and the rapper-producer duo Macklemore and Ryan Lewis at the Carrier Dome on Nov. 11.
