Juice Jam Style 2013

Students pulled out all the stops at this year's Juice Jam. From leopard to neon to denim on denim, the music festival gave students an excuse to show off this season's biggest trends while rocking out to their favorite bands.

While New York Fashion Week was finishing up in NYC, an important day in fashion was happening here in Central New York, as Syracuse students dressed in their festival-finest for the annual back-to-school Juice Jam Festival Sunday at Skytop Field.

Students took cues from classic summer music festival looks, wearing floral crowns, body paint, headbands, croptops, cut-offs, colorful tanks, and — of course — lots of denim.

From a full-body gorilla suit and a man dressed as a banana, to shiny parachute pants and barely-there bikinis, nothing seemed to be off limits at this year’s Juice Jam.

But with the weather currently transitioning into Fall here in Syracuse, students looked for ways to update summer looks for September, adding an extra layer or tying a comfy flannel shirt or light jacket around their waists when it warmed up mid-afternoon.

The largest trend by far was this year’s yellow Juice Jam tank designed by junior Fallon Kesicier. Students added their own personal flair by cutting the tank into a croptop for an edgier look, or fraying the edges for a fun, boho feel.

Music festivals are the perfect opportunity to be creative and daring with your style choices, and the students at Juice Jam 2013 made Sunday a memorable day of festival fashion.
