Actress and singer Arden Cho is coming to Syracuse University in April to talk about her experiences as both an actress and an activist.

The lecture, hosted by SU's Office of Multicultural Affairs and Lambda Phi Epsilon, is part of SU's Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month. It will take place on April 8 at 3 p.m. in the HBC Gifford Auditorium, and it will be open to the public.

Cho is best known for her role as Kira Yukimura on MTV's 'Teen Wolf.' She has guest-starred on several TV shows, including 'Castle,' 'Rizzoli and Isles' and "Pretty Little Liars.' In 2013, she released an EP titled 'My True Happy.'

Richard Yang, the president of SU's Lambda Phi Epsilon chapter, said he and his fraternity brothers wanted to host a guest speaker who would talk about coming to terms with their identity as an Asian American in an authentic way. It aligned with the Asian-interest fraternity's mission “to guide men on a lifelong discovery of authenticity and personal growth."

"Having someone of her caliber and immense following come to SU will aid in attracting individuals committed to addressing social justice issues in their careers," Yang said.
