Amanda Kullman came to Syracuse with only one year of varsity volleyball under her belt, but the sophomore setter has left her mark on the Orange.

This year’s Syracuse women’s volleyball team boasts players from China, Hawaii, Canada and Puerto Rico. Most of them came to Syracuse on lucrative scholarships after many years full of volleyball. This is not the case, however, for sophomore setter Amanda Kullman. Yet, as interim head coach Kelly Morrisroe puts it, “The kid’s a coach’s dream.”

The No. 5 Syracuse men’s basketball team (1-0) tipped off its season Saturday at the Carrier Dome against the Fordham Rams (0-1), winning 78-53 in front of a crowd of 22,906.

There were three chances to turn plays into touchdowns. Three golden opportunities to put points on the scoreboard and add to the team's touchdown total. Three chances to match the offensive output of the University of South Florida, a team with B.J. Daniels in its arsenal.

Men's basketball team gears up for the regular season with a victory over Saint Rose in their final exhibition game, 87-69.

Despite an obvious edge in talent, Syracuse went into the half of its final exhibition game tied before finally putting away Saint Rose, 87-69.

A tour the Big East men's basketball conference, home to 11 NCAA Tournament teams and the reigning National Champion.

The Big East sent a record-setting 11 teams to the NCAA Tournament last March, giving more ammunition to supporters of the conference. Though only two of the 11 teams ventured past the round of 32, the conference did take home the National Championship when Connecticut defeated the Butler Bulldogs in the tournament final.

The Syracuse University field hockey team held off the University of Connecticut to claim its second-straight Big East Conference Tournament title.

The No. 6 Syracuse University field hockey team (18-3) edged No. 4 University of Connecticut (17-2) to claim its second consecutive Big East Championship Sunday at J.S. Coyne Stadium. The Orange nearly blew a three-goal lead toward the end of the first half, but held on to claim the tournament crown, 3-2.

A slow start by Syracuse didn't last long, as the Orange ran away with the win in the first of two exhibition games this season, 79-49.

After a disappointing first half, Syracuse regained composure to readily defeat the Cal State-Los Angeles Golden Eagles, 79-49, at the Carrier Dome Tuesday.

Adam Harris may not score many touchdowns, but the senior has certainly etched his place in Syracuse's offensive scheme this season.

Usually, it wasn’t him scoring touchdowns. Those plays were normally reserved for Antwon Bailey, or one of the other running backs on the roster. Yet here he was, drifting toward the right pylon as the ball lofted out of Ryan Nassib’s hands, no defensive back in sight as he made the catch and fell into the end zone for the first touchdown of his career.

Under the lights of national TV, Syracuse shocks No. 11 West Virginia in the Carrier Dome, 49-23. The win secures the second consecutive Schwartzwalder Trophy for SU.

It was completely illogical. That’s the best way to describe what happened in the Carrier Dome Friday night because the outcome was something no one could have predicted.
