The Orange eye the No. 1 spot in the nation after defeating George Washington, 85-50.

The No. 3 Syracuse University men's basketball team (10-0, 8-0 home) used its stingy defense to blow past George Washington University (4-5, 1-3 road) in the Carrier Dome Saturday, 85-50. The Orange forced 18 turnovers and held the Colonials to just 31 percent shooting from the field. With No. 1 Kentucky and No. 2 Ohio State losing this weekend, the win should vault Syracuse to the top of the rankings Monday.

Despite its offensive struggles late in the game, the No. 3 Syracuse University men's basketball team holds on to defeat Marshall University and extend its record to 9-0.

If a fan were to look at the box score after the No. 3 Syracuse men's basketball team's (9-0, 6-0 home) 62-56 victory over the Marshall Thundering Herd (5-2, 2-1 road) Tuesday night, it would seem as though it was a close game the whole night. It would seem as though it were a barn burner or even a possible upset waiting to happen.

After the most noteworthy win of the season for the Syracuse University men's basketball team, head coach Jim Boeheim apologized for calling Bernie Fine accusers Bobby Davis and Mike Lang liars when the accusations first came to light Nov. 17.

Jim Boeheim stood solemnly at the podium Friday night. Something was definitely on the mind of the Hall-of-Fame coach. Even though No. 3 Syracuse (8-0) had just won a big game against No. 9 Florida (5-2), Boeheim was noticeably distracted. After briefly talking about the game, he apologized for initial statements regarding the accusations against former assistant coach Bernie Fine more than two weeks ago.

The Syracuse University men's basketball team, ranked No.3, fights off a late push by No. 9 University of Florida in the annual Big East-SEC Challenge to remain undefeated.

With less than four minutes remaining in the game, senior guard Scoop Jardine hit a critical 3-pointer to put No. 3 Syracuse (8-0, 6-0 home) up by 8 points in their biggest game so far this year. After that shot, No. 9 Florida (5-2, 2-2 road) was unable to come back and eventually fell 72-68 to the Orange Friday night at the Carrier Dome as part of the Big East-SEC Challenge.

After former Syracuse University men’s basketball associate head coach Bernie Fine was fired Sunday in light of a third victim accusing him of sexual molestation, head coach Jim Boeheim seemed to be the next person who was likely to lose his job.

Syracuse University men’s basketball coach Jim Boeheim sat without long-time associate head coach Bernie Fine by his side in the Carrier Dome Tuesday. Amid all the allegations and the subsequent firing of Fine, the Orange (7-0, 5-0 home), ranked No. 3 in the USA Today/ESPN Top 25, still found a way to cruise to an 84-48 victory over the Eastern Michigan Eagles (4-3, 1-2 road).

The Syracuse men's basketball team knocks off Albany, 98-74, to advance to the semifinals of the NIT Season Tip-Off.

Kris Joseph led the No. 5 Syracuse to a 98-74 rout of the Albany Great Danes (1-2) Tuesday at the Carrier Dome. Joseph led the Orange (3-0) with 19 points in a game featuring a high-powered and determined Syracuse offense. With the win, the team moves on to the semifinals of Dick's Sporting Goods NIT Season Tip-Off at Madison Square Garden.
