Syracuse couldn't battle back from a three-goal deficit to beat rival Georgetown in a Big East matchup

The motto for the Syracuse Orange lacrosse team this season is "head, heart, hustle." The Orange showed none of those three H's in today's 10-8 loss to Georgetown. A spotlight was shined on the team's seniors before the game, honoring the last time they took the field in the Carrier Dome. But that spotlight went out as soon as the first quarter began.

Meet Jess Liddon, a Lockerbie scholar who rows and shoots, but not necessarily at the same time.

She hails from Scotland, rows for Syracuse, and somehow the freshman manages to fire off air pistols in her free time. Her name is Jess Liddon, and we sat down with her for this interview about a her experiences with two rather different competitive sports.

Freshmen Kailah Kempney and Devon Collins scored five goals apiece as Syracuse remained unbeaten in Big East play.

From the moment it stepped on the field, No. 2/2 Syracuse dominated No. 14/11 Georgetown (8-4, 4-2 Big East), in every way. With a strong offense and a stringent defense, the Orange (10-2, 4-0) easily defeated the Hoyas 22-11 Saturday in the Carrier Dome.

Syracuse took down Providence Saturday in the Carrier Dome 10-9.

The No. 17 Syracuse Orange (5-4) picked up a win Saturday against the No. 11 Princeton Tigers (6-3) in front of a home crowd at the Carrier Dome. The Orange scored 4 unanswered goals during a decisive third quarter to win its first game in over two weeks. 

"It was a very good win for us," coach John Desko said. "We're gonna enjoy it for the next ten minutes here and then get ready for the (Cornell) Big Red on Tuesday."

Jenna Caira strikes out 7 in the first home game of the season

Home plate was near the 50-yard line, field goal posts were used as foul poles, and bases were mounted into the turf of Ernie Davis Legends Field for the first ever softball game in the Carrier Dome on Friday night.

"It was so much fun, great energy in here," head coach Leigh Ross said. "The girls were extra excited to have so many fans here."

A missed Wisconsin 3-point attempt followed by a desperation shot in the games final seconds helped Syracuse keep its season alive.

Sophomore guard Dion Waiters scored a career-high 28 points, but it wasn't enough as Cincinnati knocked off the top-seeded Orange.

Every bounce went the Bearcats’ way on Friday night at Madison Square Garden in the semifinals of the Big East Tournament. Cincinnati started its game against top-seeded Syracuse on a tear, making 8-of-10 three-pointers, hustling for loose balls and taking the Orange out of their desired pace. Syracuse used a full-court press in the second half and some timely shooting to cut the lead, but it was not enough to overcome the deficit, losing 71-68.

Sophomore guard Dion Waiters had a game-high 18 points as the No. 1-seeded Orange dropped the Huskies
