Cody Sigel Combs arrived in Syracuse after working a few years at CNN's Washington bureau in various capacities such as guest-booking, researching and producing on-air graphics.

During his time in Washington, Cody realized he wanted to not just produce stories, he wanted to tell stories. Now he's pursuing his Master's Degree in Broadcast/Digital Journalism at Newhouse, where he hopes to graduate and begin an on-air reporting career.

Cody grew up in Alliance, Ohio and attended college at Walsh University where he majored in Government and Foreign Affairs. For his sophomore and senior year at Walsh, he held the title of Editor-in-Chief for the university's newspaper, "The Spectator."

At the age of 18, Cody ran for and won a seat on city council in Alliance, Ohio. During his term in office he sponsored and co-sponsored various pieces of legislation revolving around noise pollution and securing green-space for the city.

He enjoys long-distance running and reading, although doesn't put in the miles he used to. To the surprise of many, he also wrestled in middle and high school.

You can view Cody's stories and other work at his website.
