Block Party 2015: 50 Cent for your thoughts?

Joining the artist born Curtis Jackson for the annual concert in the Carrier Dome are co-headliners G-Unit and Kygo, and hip-hop duo Rae Sremmurd.

It's that time of the year again for University Union's Block Party, and headlining the end-of-the-year concert on Friday, April 24, is 50 Cent with co-headliners G-Unit and Kygo.

50 Cent, one of the most successful rappers in the past decade, has sold more than 22 million albums worldwide and received 13 Grammy nominations during his career.

The rapper has been in movies like "Get Rich or Die Tryin'" and performed with artists like Destiny's Child, Jennifer Lopez and Eminem.

You've heard his countless hits on the radio like "In da Club" and "P.I.M.P" and you can probably recite lyrics to perhaps his most popular song, "Candy Shop." But if someone were to ask you who Curtis Jackson was, would you know?

Fellow Newhouse student Jeff Kurkjian and I took to the streets of Syracuse University to see if students were going to Block Party on Friday and most importantly, if they knew just who Mr. Jackson was.
