The No. 24 Syracuse women's basketball team defeated Providence, 75-59, with the help of defense, rebounding, and the return of veteran senior Tyson-Thomas.

The Syracuse Orange women’s basketball team combined offensive rebounding and pressure defense to create extra scoring opportunities in a 75-59 win against the Providence Friars (6-15, 1-7) Saturday afternoon at the Carrier Dome. The No. 24 Orange (18-3, 6-2) employed a full court press that helped force 27 turnovers, and the offense gathered 20 offensive rebounds, leading to 18 second-chance points.

Lead by Freshman Brianna Butler and Brittany Sykes, the Orange defeated Seton Hall 65-34 Wednesday night.

After about seven minutes of play, the No. 24 Syracuse (17-3, 5-2) women’s basketball team broke open a once tight ball game in the inevitable dismantling of Seton Hall (8-4, 3-5), 65-34.

Orange erases 10-point second half deficit, but still falls to the Wildcats

Villanova (16-13, 6-10) scored 14 of the games final 18 points on Monday night at the Pavillion on their way to a 68-60 victory over the Orange. The loss made Syracsue (17-13, 6-10) the No. 12 seed for the Big East tournament. The Orange will play Providence at 12 p.m. on Friday in Hartford, Conn.

Center Kayla Alexander leads the Syracuse women's basketball team to a 79-63 victory against Marquette on Saturday while the team supports the Kay Yow Cancer Fund.

The Syracuse women's basketball team took a 16-0 run in the second half against Marquette to grab a 79-63 victory in the Carrier Dome on Saturday afternoon. SU (16-11, 5-8) was led by Kayla Alexander, who dominated throughout the game with 23 points. She was one of four players to score in double figures.

"I told her that she needed to be more aggressive with her shot and get into the paint," said head coach Quentin Hillsman, referring to Alexander.

Junior center Kayla Alexander scored 20 points and collected 12 rebounds in the Orange's second straight Big East loss

The Syracuse women’s basketball team (15-7, 7-5) fell to Louisville (18-7, 7-5) 89-62 on Saturday at the KFC Yum! Center. Junior center Kayla Alexander scored 20 points and had 12 rebounds but it wasn't enough to hold off the Cardinals.

The Orange had two other players score in double-figures with sophomore guard Rachel Coffey and junior guard Elashier Hall, both of whom scored 11 points.

Syracuse was only able to score 19 points in the first half against ND

Poor shooting plagued the Syracuse women's basketball team (15-10, 4-7) in their 74-55 loss to No. 2 ranked Notre Dame (24-1, 11-0) on Tuesday night in the Carrier Dome. SU shot 19% from the field in the first half which enabled the FIghting Irish to get off to a quick start with easy transition buckets.

Senior forward Iasia Hemingway scored 24 points in a victory over South Florida

The Syracuse women’s basketball team (15-9, 4-6) soared past South Florida to seal a 76-61 win in the Carrier Dome Saturday afternoon. SU senior forward Iasia Hemingway led the Orange with 24 points and tied her career-high with five assists. Also scoring in double figures was junior center Kayla Alexander and junior guard Elashier Hall. They knocked down 17 and 14 points respectively.

Orange snap losing streak on the road against Providence

The Syracuse women's basketball team shots just kept falling and falling, en route to an 80-54 point victory over Providence on Tuesday night at Alumni Hall. Star player Iasia Hemingway lead the SU (14-9, 3-6) team with 24 points in 33 minutes of play.

Syracuse scored the games final eight points to seal a victory

The Syracuse (13-7, 2-4) women’s basketball team beat Seton Hall (7-13, 0-6) 70-66 on Sunday at the Walsh Gymnasium in South Orange, N.J. SU junior center Kayla Alexander led the Orange with 23 points, 8 rebounds and 2 blocks. Junior guard, Elashier Hall added 14 points, and a game-high 6 assists.
