TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The Syracuse Orange football team fell short in a heart-breaking loss against Florida State on Saturday night.
The Orange were down by three late in the fourth quarter but missed a field goal attempt to tie the game, losing 27-24. Syracuse’s offense recorded 463 total yards against the Seminoles.

On paper, it seemed as if the Florida State football team would cruise to an easy win over the injury-riddled Syracuse Orange at the Carrier Dome. And, that is exactly what happened.
The No. 17 Seminoles (8-3, 5-3 ACC) dominated from start-to-finish in their 45-14 victory on Saturday afternoon. FSU racked up 654 yards of total offense, averaged 8.6 yards per play and held the Orange (4-7, 2-5 ACC) to just 13 first downs in the contest.
