The $13 million project will help eliminate scheduling conflicts and weather woes for the Orange.

Syracuse University hopes its new indoor football-training facility’s full-size practice field, large roof and state-of-the-art equipment will impress new recruits, as well as ease the already-busy schedules of student-athletes.

“One of the biggest amenities is their time,” said Joe Giansante, an executive in the university’s athletics department, referring to student-athletes.

Although he played long before the Orange joined the ACC, legendary running back Floyd Little was inducted into the 2013 ACC Class of Legends.

Dubbing Floyd Little an ACC legend might be a bit of an awkward fit — the Orange have yet to play a single football game in the conference, after all — but odds are good that no one will mind giving one more trophy and standing ovation to No. 44.

Little, along with 13 others, was named to the 2013 Class of Legends by the ACC this afternoon. The group will be honored at the ACC Championship Game at a dinner on Dec. 6 and on the field in Charlotte on Dec. 7.

Guys watch themselves lift weights with pain on their faces while girls power through their elliptical and treadmill workouts. The image differs greatly from the way the Archbold Gymnasium looked in December, perhaps because of the new year.

The Syracuse University Marching Band will play the fight songs from three other universities as well as the SU alma mater at the 77th Annual Heisman Memorial Trophy Gala.

About 40 section leaders from the Syracuse University “Pride of the Orange” Marching Band will share a Manhattan conference room with Vinny Testaverde, Eric Crouch and other football dynamos at Monday’s 77th Annual Heisman Memorial Trophy Gala.

Jon Gesicki, a senior trombone section leader, took his engineering final three days early so he could make the trip.
