Review: With co-headliners Calvin Harris and Childish Gambino each delivering sets infused with unmatchable energy, 8,500 fans were left with no option other than to dance their Sunday away.

Heavy bass, feverish dancing, and a crowd dressed in neon, paired with barely-there outfits and body glitter doesn’t sound like a typical Sunday afternoon; but this year’s Juice Jam was a high-energy, nonstop dance party that’s sure to go down in SU history.

Headliners Calvin Harris and Childish Gambino did not disappoint the massive crowd at what University Union Concert Director Ken Consor said was the most successful show in the concert’s nine-year run.

Concertgoers erupted when Consor said to them, "I want you to know that you are a part of the biggest Juice Jam ever."

More than 2,000 students and Syracuse community members helped Relay for Life raise more than $149,000 for cancer research in the Carrier Dome on April 14.

It seems in today’s world, it is nearly impossible to find someone that has not been affected by cancer. Whether it be a family member, a friend or an acquaintance, millions of lives have been touched by the disease.

Syracuse University students and members of the Syracuse community came out April 14 to fight back against cancer in the 10th annual Relay for Life.

Over the years, Syracuse University's changing logo reflects a desire to find a brand that will stand out from the rest.

If you don’t like the weather in Syracuse, just wait a few minutes for it to change. Some might argue the same could be said about the Syracuse University logo.

“Most professional and college teams have some kind of history of logo evolution,” said Marc Donabella, Associate Director of athletics and of marketing at Syracuse University.

“There are many factors that affect marketing trends and as technology and the way consumers view your logo evolve, so must the brand,” he added.

Professional artist and Syracuse sports fan Michael Borkowski has applied his own original look to the school's popular mascot.

Michael Borkowski fell in love with Syracuse sports from the stands in the newly constructed Carrier Dome. The Syracuse native watched firsthand as Dick MacPherson rebuilt the football program and Jim Boeheim coached the basketball team to national prominence in the early '80s.

Only one thing confused Borkowski: the lack of an official mascot. Syracuse University hadn't yet adopted Otto the Orange, and was in the middle of a mix-and-match dark period of mascots that confused the young SU fan.

Review: Weather doesn't stop students from dancing, partying during a cold, snowy MayFest celebration.

The cold weather and occasional snow wasn't enough to scare away the Syracuse University students looking for free food, drinks and music at Walnut Park for University Union's annual MayFest celebration Friday.

And, if you weren’t expecting to see Tigger and Elmo dancing on stage dressed as Scoop Jardine and Kris Joseph, you were in for quite a surprise.

We found plenty of bests, favorites and firsts on SU's campus ranging from the most dangerous street to the friendliest employee.

Superlative. It means “something having the greatest degree” — the best, the worst, the first, the most.

Students in the spring 2012 semester have added to the more than a dozen stories from fall 2011 about standout characters and organizations at Syracuse University and in the Syracuse area. Their work includes:

Freshman duo living in Boland-Brewster-Brockway dorm comes together to create musical harmony.

When a name like Thunderwolfe reverberates through the loudspeakers, few expect to see freshmen Courtnee Futch and Julia Wolfe take the stage.

Biology freshman and vocalist Futch teamed up with music freshman Wolfe, who is equally capable on guitar and vocals, to form Thunderwolfe in the humble halls of the Boland-Brewster-Brockway dorm complex.

Thunderwolfe’s talent and charisma garnered a resounding reputation among modest audiences. The duo quickly surpassed shows on the Syracuse University quad, the typical venu for new student musicians.

Bad weather is no match for Sunday's environmental celebration.

Despite gray skies, Thornden Park was shrouded in green Sunday afternoon for an all-day celebration of Earth Day 2012. The late-day rain held off just long enough for five-hour celebration starting at noon.

Meet Jess Liddon, a Lockerbie scholar who rows and shoots, but not necessarily at the same time.

She hails from Scotland, rows for Syracuse, and somehow the freshman manages to fire off air pistols in her free time. Her name is Jess Liddon, and we sat down with her for this interview about a her experiences with two rather different competitive sports.

The NewsHouse: Not only are you on the rowing team, you also shoot pistols, what's that all about?
