Review: Marc Broussard rewarded a small audience with an intimate show Saturday night at The Westcott Theater.

With an audience of approximately 50 people (including theater employees), Marc Broussard started his concert at The Westcott Theater Saturday night. Paying no attention to the turnout, Broussard gave it his all in what ended up being a very intimate concert.

Review: Best Coast opens the semester at Westcott Theater with Syracuse acts Animal Pants and Sarah Aument.

There may have been other people besides Syracuse University students at the Westcott Theater Friday night, but, as Giovanni Giardina, drummer for Syracuse band Animal Pants put it, it was "an SU party."

Review: Hometown heroes and SU alums provide a top-level performance Thursday while reminiscing a bit about how it all started.

A full house of college-aged students and Syracuse locals played a game of patience. They waited to see Ra Ra Riot's performance for nearly three hours after The Westcott Theater doors opened last night, but the group's passionate and energetic delivery of a wholesome setlist, lasting a little over an hour, was well worth the wait.

Review: Unusual stage elements added a unique kick to OK Go's show at the Westcott Theater on Tuesday.

It’s not often that confetti, hand bells and 3D glasses are found simultaneously at a rock concert, but Grammy-winning OK Go found ways to effectively incorporate them all into their 90-minute show at the Westcott Theater Tuesday night.

With a new sound and style, OK Go has more than just dance moves to perform on Tuesday.

OK Go, the alternative rock/power pop foursome known for their elaborately choreographed music videos, will perform at the Westcott Tuesday night.

Veteran indie-rocker’s steady, string-filled songs suited the surprisingly small crowd on Thursday.

Despite making a name for himself as the creator of indie-pop band Matt Pond PA, Matt Pond’s 12-year, eight-record career didn’t draw many people to Thursday’s show. Perhaps it was the relentless rain that kept some away. But those who did attend were treated to an intimate set of some of Pond’s best songs.

Review: Several years after their heyday, Rogue Wave attempt relevancy at the Westcott.

It’s nearing 11 p.m. at the Westcott Theater and Rogue Wave frontman Zach Schwartz is starting to look sheepish.

“Play – what?” He says languidly, squinting into the blue-toned stage lights. “Play the entire soundtrack?”

There’s a high-pitched, feminine cry from the front of the tiny crowd.

The O.C.?” Schwartz grumbles again. “Is that show still on?”

Midlake and Peter Wolf Crier are well worth a listen, even if Rogue Wave have passed their peak.

There’s a reason Rogue Wave is playing the Westcott this Saturday, and it has nothing to do with Syracuse’s love of mid-tempo indie rock or the proximity of Alto Cinco.
