Coleman set to return as early as Monday, Boeheim says

After undergoing knee surgery, SU center Dajuan Coleman looks to return to action when SU travels to play Marquette Monday night.

Syracuse looks to get some interior depth with the return of its freshman center DaJuan Coleman.

After, a 57-46 loss to Georgetown Saturday night, head coach Jim Boeheim said Coleman should be set to play Marquette on Feb. 25.

"I think he could play now," Boeheim said. "I wanted to give him at least a couple days of practice and just see how he felt. But I really wanted to give him a week or so."

Six SU athletes medal in Big East indoor track championship

In the two day meet in New York City, the men's and women's track and field team finished sixth and ninth, respectively.

This weekend the Syracuse University men’s and women’s track and field team wrapped up its indoor season with the Big East Championships at the New Balance Track and Field Center at the Armory in New York City. The meet was a two-day event beginning on Feb. 16.

SU-Georgetown game sells out

Long-time Big East rivals Syracuse and Georgetown play their last regular season game in the Carrier Dome in front of a record-breaking crowd.

It was only a matter of time before Syracuse broke the record for most spectators at an on-campus basketball game.

SU announced Tuesday that the men's basketball game between the No. 8 Orange and the No. 11 Georgetown Hoyas on Feb. 23 has sold out. The final ticket count of 35,012 breaks SU's previous record 34,616 fans set on Feb. 27, 2010 when the Orange hosted Villanova.

This marks the 72nd time a crowd of over 30,000 people will watch a basketball game in the Carrier Dome. Georgetown has been the opponent in 17 of those games.

Syracuse's recent upset loss at UConn may have been overshadowed by a confrontation between the long-time head coach and an ESPN reporter in the post-game press conference.

The Syracuse men's basketball team suffered a shocking 66-58 loss at Connecticut on Wednesday night in the teams' final Big East regular season meeting.

But the fireworks weren't limited to the on-court effort.

After being ruled ineligible on Jan. 12, Syracuse forward James Southerland won his appeal on Friday and will be allowed to play against St. John's on Sunday.

It was a long, grueling six game stretch withouth senior forward James Southerland.

Three thoughts on SU's victory over Cincinnati

The No. 24/22 Syracuse women won their third game in a row tonight, beating the Cincinnati Bearcats (8-14, 0-9) 72-48 on the road. Here are some takeaways from the win.

Elashier Hall joins the 1,000-point club

Going into tonight’s game, Hall was three points away from becoming the 23rd player in program history to score 1,000 career points. She did more than enough, scoring a game-high 23 points on 7-of-13 shooting, including 2-of-3 from three point range and 7-of-8 from the free throw line. This game continued a great run for the accomplished senior, marking her fourth double-digit performance in a row.
