Hurricane Sandy may have cancelled a day and a half of classes, but at select bars, stores and performance spaces, the good times roll on. Be sure to consult our list below before you head out on the town if you're looking to brave the bad weather in a place other than your living room, as some locations have changed their hours.
Music
The Westcott Theater has canceled the show slated for tonight, which was to feature Blood On the Dance Floor and Jeffree Star. All tickets will be refunded, and there is no information available about a rescheduling at this time. According to its website, the Richie Hawtin show scheduled for Tuesday will still go on as planned.
A costume party and punk rock show will still take place at Spark Art Space tonight, with Black Throat Wind, Typewriter, Homeward and Josh Netsky performing. Doors open at 6 p.m. Tickets are $7.
Museums
The Museum of Science and Technology is typically closed on Monday and Tuesday. As a result, its schedule remains unaffected by the storm.
The Everson Museum of Art is always closed on Monday and has not posted any status about its hours for Tuesday. The normal hours of operation on Tuesday are noon to 5 p.m.
Bars
Chuck's Cafe currently plans to stay open during its regular hours both Monday and Tuesday. When reached for comment, they stated that they have dry ice and a barbecue truck ready, punctuating the declaration with "This is Chucks Baby!, More whatever than ever before!"
Harry's Bar could not be reached for comment.
Feagan's Pub is operating on its normal schedule. It closes at 9 p.m. on Monday and open at 11 a.m. Tuesday.
Daisy Dukes is typically closed Monday through Wednesday, so its operating schedule remains unaffected.
Middle Ages Brewing Company will be operating on its normal schedule Tuesday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Trexx is typically closed on Monday and Tuesday, so its normal business hours are not affected.
Wise Guys Comedy Club has its answering machine on. It was supposed to be open until 10 p.m. on Monday, so it seems as though it has closed early.
DJ's On The Hill is operating according to its regular schedule.
The mall and Regal Cinemas are operating according to their normally scheduled hours, although some stores are closing at their own discretion.
Regal Cinemas and the stores at Shoppingtown Mall are currently operating on their regular schedules.
Theater
Syracuse Stage is currently closed due to the closing of all Syracuse University buildings. A decision as to whether Tuesday night's performance of Moby Dick will go on as originally scheduled will be determined Tuesday afternoon.
Other
Cranx Indoor and Outdoor Bike and Sports Park is usually open until 10 p.m. on Monday. However, a phone call resulted in an answering machine message, indicating it may have closed early. There is currently no word on the schedule for tomorrow.
