If someone were to tell you that 12 Greek gods resided in a restaurant in Syracuse, you might not believe it. At Dorian’s Gourmet Pizza & Deli, the large variety of fresh, tasty food is a godsend. Dorian's serves Greek, Italian and American food and stays open late for delivery every day. From gyros to calzones, from pizza to wings, Dorian’s is great for a quick bite or a nice sit-down meal.
When to Go: Dorian’s offers both lunch and dinner and stays open until at least 1 a.m. every day. The menu doesn’t change, but daily online deals are offered on campusfood.com. Dorian's delivers from 11:30 a.m. to 1 a.m., Sunday through Thursday, and 11:30 a.m. to 2 a.m., Friday through Saturday. Bottom Line: Whether you’re looking for a midnight snack or a quick bite to eat before class, Dorian’s has flexible hours for everyone.
Blue Plate Special: The heavenly subs and pizza draw the most attention, and for good reason. The 12 Greek god sandwiches are all $8 for the large sandwiches. Earthy Demetra offers grilled veggies piled high on a sub roll with provolone cheese and Italian dressing. The fiery Ares has hot capicola and Genoa salami, provolone cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, onions, and green peppers, sprinkled with house Italian dressing. The 300 pizza packs a punch with blue cheese, hot wing sauce, chicken and mozzarella cheese for a $12 medium pizza. You can also create your own pizza with a selection of more than 23 fresh toppings. Bottom Line: There's a reason it's called Dorian’s GOURMET Pizza & Deli, which offers more than 20 specialty pizzas as well as burgers, wings and wraps.
The Scene: Think Acropolis but on Westcott. Dorian's has good customer service and a short wait. There’s nothing fancy about Dorian’s. You walk in, order your food and in a few minutes your order is called. The overhead menu is written in faux-Greek style, and pizza is displayed throughout the checkout counter. Bottom Line: The venue isn’t very large, and the setup is simple. But what it lacks in decor, it makes up for with delicious food.
The Crowd: From Athens to Marshall Street, Dorian’s attracts all sorts of people. Delivery and takeout are popular options. Bottom Line: Delizioso and nostimos.
The Deets: Dorian’s is located at 534 Westcott St. between the Westcott Theater and Alto Cinco. It’s a cheap eat, and it’s open late. Bottom Line: Great delivery service and great food.

SCAMMED
This has been my favorite pizza place in Syracuse for a long time, but last night they scammed us out of $6 and have lost our business for good. This is what happened: We ordered off GrubHub and paid and tipped online with a credit card. It was $23 before tip and $27 after tip. My boyfriend answered the door and the delivery man told him the total was $27. He gave him $32. When he told me about this, I promptly called Dorian's and they said they would send the driver back with the money. When he returned, an hour later, he handed us $27 and left. So, he had a $4 tip on the credit card, and then kept the $6 my boyfriend had mistakenly tipped him for a total of $10 on a $22 order. When GrubHub called me back, they told me that Dorian's does not refund "delivery charges" which this very much was not. We paid the full bill twice and tipped twice and I believe that the driver knew exactly what he was doing. Never again.
