Two stages and six artists offered a diverse concert experience at this year's Juice Jam Music Festival

Neither the dancing nor the music paused for even a moment at Sunday’s sold-out Juice Jam Music Festival at Skytop Field.

Smallpools kicked off this year’s festival on the Indie Stage with a dynamic set that had people eagerly clapping and dancing from minute one of the first song.

The band’s energetic pop sound set the tone for the day, with a receptive crowd of students — in various shades of neon and patterned headbands — already lined up to see the first performance of the afternoon.

Syracuse residents overcoming addiction showcase the art they created as a form of therapy at the third annual Recovery Arts Festival.

For those recovering from addiction at Syracuse Behavioral Healthcare, art is transformative. It is a path to self-discovery, and during the month of September, they have the opportunity to showcase their talents and share their journeys with the Syracuse community.

“You see a dumpster. They might see a place they used to live,” said Jeremy Klemanski, president and CEO at Syracuse Behavioral Healthcare. “You see a grate on the side of a building. They might see the place where they got heat when they were homeless and active in their addiction.”

Review: The Texas instrumental rock band delivered an energetic performance on Tuesday to a sold-out crowd.

The Westcott Theater had two firsts on Tuesday night: performances by post-rock instrumental band Explosions in the Sky and local psychedelic rock group Black Throat Wind. The two bands performed to a sold out theater, with an audience that largely consisted of teenagers and 20-somethings.

Music connoisseur Elizabeth Kahn recounts her journey from Syracuse to her favorite place in the world: The Coachella Music and Arts Festival in Indio, Calif.

Sunday, April 21: Day Three

11 a.m.: I sleep in for the longest on Day 3, probably because I’ve been overexposed to the sun for the last 48 hours, jet-lagged, and finally adjusted to the desert nighttime and camping lifestyle conditions… too bad it’s all going to be over soon.

2 p.m.: Coachella Art Studio sponsored by The Coachella Valley Art Scene During the day I managed to check out the Coachella Art Studio on the camping grounds, about a five-minute walk from our campsite.

Saturday, April 20: Jour Deux

10 a.m: I can’t manage to sleep in any later. Damn it’s hot, but I’d rather be in dangerously high temperatures than back in Syracuse.

Things accomplished: My first shower in the campsite showers was way cleaner than expected. Although there was a VIP Shower option for $10, my camping neighbor Ana and I decided that it was worth it to just wait it out for the free showers since other girls leaving the area said it wasn’t so bad. Felt very refreshed and ready for the second day of the festivities.

Review: The pop star performed many of her No. 1 hits at the Carrier Dome on Friday, with openers Drop City Yacht Club and Trey Songz.

Syracuse University’s annual Block Party is time for students to break loose, to quench their thirst with questionable beverages and say goodbye to a semester that's overstayed its welcome. In the process of achieving these three goals, things may get a little inappropriate. Thus, it was fitting that pop vocalist extraordinaire Madam Kesha Rose Sebert made a visit to SU to sing a few songs on this glorified collegiate holiday.

The short story author discussed the art of writing in HBS Gifford Auditorium on Wednesday evening.

Reading Diane Williams Vicky Swanky Is a Beauty (McSweeney’s 2012) is to enter a kaleidoscope of unsettling emotions, where time either stands still or moves entirely too fast. But to listen to her read from it makes a world of difference. Williams is soft-spoken and almost diminutive in appearance, but her voice brims with steel. More importantly, her advice to young writers packs a punch:

Review: Frontman Michael Fitzpatrick announced the band's stop in Syracuse was their favorite stop on tour so far.

When indie rock meets disco, you get a band that always follows through on their promise to make you dance, and boy did Fitz and the Tantrums follow through at The Westcott Theater.

We asked a few SU students what they thought about Ke$ha's arrival on campus and the tradition of Block Party. Here's what they said.

Syracuse University’s Block Party concert is the last hurrah for the student body at the end of the academic year, right before finals week. It’s the students’ last chance to unwind before rushing to the closest library to study for exams and to tweak final projects.

This year, SU’s Univeristy Union welcomes platinum selling artist Ke$ha as the headlining act for Block Party 2013 on Friday April 26, with special guest Trey Songz. Ke$ha has dominated Billboard charts since 2009, with her debut single "Tik Tok" selling 12.8 million copies worldwide just in 2010.
