New SUber company promises "Fair Fares" that also will eliminate long waits for campus buses.

UPDATE: We hope you enjoyed -- at least for a moment -- the idea that SUber may be a reality. Here is the story behind our April Fools' Day prank.

Don’t feel like waiting for a South Campus bus? Need to make a last minute trip to the mall for a big interview tomorrow? Feeling lazy –- or just plain cold -– and don’t feel like falling victim to central New York’s winter elements?

Meet Nihan Can, a film senior from Turkey.

Nihan Can is no stranger to living in other countries.

The Turkish exchange student’s time at Syracuse University is the latest in a series of study abroad locations that has included Boston; Vila Real, Portugal; and Berlin, Germany. Can describes herself as a “super senior” at her university in Istanbul, Turkey, where she studies film.

The massive storm that hit the Northeast causes delays and dilemmas as students tried to make their way back to Syracuse.

While Hurricane Irene didn’t affect Central New York as badly as cities on the eastern seaboard, several Syracuse University students who planned on moving in this weekend had a lot of trouble traveling to campus.

The storm touched down in North Carolina on Saturday and slammed into New Jersey and New York today, intimidating authorities into shutting down public transit and throughways in the tri-state area and prompting flight delays nationwide.
