Sleigh Bells

Review: Sleigh Bells and LCD Soundsystem made a riotous impression in Clinton on Friday night.

There are a few ways for concertgoers to evaluate a set. Did the audience hear all the radio singles it wanted? Did the band throw in some fan favorites and rarities? Or did the band play a mixture of its whole discography in an order that allowed for the momentous highs while never bottoming out so low that the crowd stands still?

Whichever your answer, LCD Soundsystem has perfected a set list so epic, so powerful and so emotional, that the audience is never allowed to come down from its musical high.

Nearly half the year is behind us so Otto-Tune looks back and creates a playlist of the tracks you need to hear going forward.

The calendar is finally reading "June" so we're almost half way through 2010. Between all the labor that goes into spring semester and finals week,  no one should be faulted for being a bit out of the loop when it comes to the year's music releases.

Tired of people complaining about a lack of shows near us? They haven't looked up a concert schedule recently.

Even Snooki got involved in the past few weeks of music blogs.

Despite the disappointment surrounding rumors of Kid Cudi falling through, there has been a surprisingly high amount of good shows announced around CNY in recent weeks.

It's the end of the year and all anyone can talk about are the best albums of the year, but that's bunk, because so many individual great songs on mediocre albums get left out of the conversation. It's time to count down the top 10 songs of 2009 before the ball drops.

People aren't going to like my list, mostly because it doesn't inlclude any Animal Collective, Grizzly Bear or Girls. Sorry, go slobber over SPIN's list--which was predictable and incredibly obnoxious. My list isn't about album recognition. This list complies the top 10 songs that rocked my year from beginning to end. That's it--cut and dry.

[**NOTE** The List is not ranked in order of awesome-ness]
