Rapper Michael Christmas and electronic music producer Sweater Beats' concert at Skybarn on South Campus features Christmas' eccentric hip-hop stylings and Sweater's tripped out brand of EDM.

It’s a rain-drenched Thursday night, and Michael Christmas is moving and mingling through the small crowd at a South Campus venue, cutting a striking and colorful figure with a large build and puffy hair that easily dwarfs the biggest afro you’ve ever seen.

 “I think I’m inspired by everyday life,” Christmas, the 21-year-old rapper from Boston, Massachusetts, said before performing at Skybarn along with rising electronic music maestro Sweater Beats on April 2.

While most high school seniors struggle to make a decision on where to go to college, Ricky Laubenstein, also known as Rip City Rick, was performing as the opening act for rapper and hip-hop mogul Ludacris.

RYSE (née Ryan Andersen) is a young rapper and artist constantly searching for the freshest sound while overcoming a turbulent past.

Ryan Andersen is looking for ways to broadcast his message to the world. As the aspiring rapper RYSE, the Syracuse University freshman has found just a way to do that.

Andersen's exposure to alcohol and drugs during his upbringing ultimately created severe emotional and dependency issues including the amphetamine Adderall. But while he was able to conquer many of those personal challenges, Andersen also tried to tap into those experiences for his musical endeavors.

The rapper performed Friday, March 22nd in the Schine Underground as part of the Save The Horn Benefit Concert organized by the Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity and Habitat for Humanity.

Oh God! Rapper Big Sean returned to Syracuse University's Schine Underground Friday in front of a sold-out crowd. 

The brothers of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity Theta Xi Chapter along with Habitat for Humanity brought Big Sean to Syracuse as part of the Second Annual Save the Horn Benefit Concert to benefit the Horn of Africa.

Big Sean, a member of Kanye West's G.O.O.D. Music group, hit the stage around 8:40 p.m. and performed for over an hour.

Up-and-coming Brooklyn rapper Joey Bada$$ kicked off the first Bandersnatch show with support from Dizzy Wright in the Schine Underground on Tuesday March 5.

The headliner came and delivered with a splash, a splash of water that is.

Joey Bada$$ played the Schine Underground on Monday night for a sold-out crowd. The 18-year old Brooklyn native showed a stage presence and connection to fans that only comes with the experience of older artists.

“He is hip-hop’s golden boy,” said junior Carter Sims. “Syracuse students don’t know how lucky they are to get this guy to come so early in his career.”

The MTV "Jersey Shore" star, supported by Chicago rapper Rockie Fresh, played a DJ set in Goldstein Auditorium Thursday night.

Rockie Fresh and MTV star DJ Pauly D’s dance party distracted students from the snowfall outside Thursday night at Goldstein Auditorium in Schine Student Center.

The event, sponsored by student programming board University Union, began an hour and 15 minutes behind schedule, as Rockie Fresh faced inclement weather on his way to Syracuse.

University Union announced via Twitter Wednesday night that Joey Bada$$ will play in the Schine Underground on March 5.

Brooklyn independent rapper Joey Bada$$ will play the Schine Underground on Tuesday March 5 as part of University Union's Bandersnatch Music Series.

Doors will open at 7:30 p.m., and the show will start at 8. Tickets go on sale Friday Feb. 15 at 12 p.m. and are $5 with ID for SU/ESF students, faculty and staff. The opener has yet to be announced.
