Chandler Jones will forgo his final year of eligibility and enter the NFL Draft.

After three years and 10.5 sacks, Syracuse defensive end Chandler Jones has decided to forgo his final year of eligibility at Syracuse University and enter the NFL draft. Jones, an All-Big East first team defender from Endicott, N.Y. played in seven games for the Orange this season and registered a team-high 4.5 sacks with 7.5 tackles for loss.

Jones made the announcement via his Twitter account at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.

The White squad beat the Blue squad Saturday in the Syracuse football Spring game, 13-7, in part to a one-yard touchdown run by tailback Antwon Bailey.

Syracuse head coach Doug Marrone decided to bring a change to this year’s spring game, which is normally just a scripted, glorified scrimmage. Instead, Marrone split his coaching staff and team into two and spent his time observing the two squads from about 15 yards behind the line of scrimmage.
