Three Orange players netted hat tricks in a romp over the two-time defending national champions.

After being destroyed in Durham last year, Syracuse exacted its revenge on Sunday by dominating Duke and shutting down arguably the country’s best player, midfielder Myles Jones.

Now the only remaining undefeated team in the country, No. 1 Syracuse (7-0, 2-0 ACC) defeated the two-time defending national champion, 19-7, at the Carrier Dome.

A late 7-0 run helps SU cruise to its fifth-straight victory.

On Sunday against Virginia, Syracuse took a commanding lead early in the first half and never looked back.

But against St. John's, the Orange was forced to "storm" back for its victory.

SU ripped off a 7-0 run in the fourth quarter to pull away to a 14-6 win over the Red Storm in Kennesaw, Georgia, on Saturday. Randy Staats scored a team-high five goals, as the Orange erased an early 4-0 deficit to continue its unbeaten streak.

With the University of Denver's loss, Syracuse takes over the No. 1 ranking this week.

In a matchup of two top-five teams, No. 2 Syracuse dominated No. 5 Virginia in the first half, building a 8-1 lead that would never be in danger.

The Orange was able to cruise to an easy 15-9 victory at the Carrier Dome on Sunday behind attackman Kevin Rice’s seven points and hat tricks from Dylan Donahue and Nicky Galasso

John Desko reaches coaching milestone after a dominant offensive performance.

After looking completely out of sorts on offense for the first 11 minutes, No. 3 Syracuse dominated the rest of the way in its blowout win at the Carrier Dome over No. 11 Cornell.

The Orange (2-0) got the win, 14-6, over its rival in the 100th meeting between the two teams to give Syracuse head coach John Desko his 200th career win.

Ben Williams dominated one of the best faceoff specialists in the country as the Orange offense rolled past the Saints.

Syracuse seems to have finally found its long-awaited dominant faceoff specialist after a brilliant performance against Siena, which had the defending MAAC faceoff specialist of the year on its team.

Led by the performance of Ben Williams, the Orange (1-0) won 25 out of 30 faceoffs en route to a 21-7 victory over Siena (0-1) in the Carrier Dome. Williams finished 17 for 20 for an 85-percent clip at the X.

The fifth-year event pitted the 2015 squad against a number of well-known SU alumni.

Syracuse men’s lacrosse fans escaped the rain and headed inside the Carrier Dome on Saturday afternoon at the program’s fifth annual Alumni Lacrosse Classic.

The varsity team played a very competitive game against its All-Star alumni, with the current Orange squad pulling away to a 13-7 victory. The alumni team included a trio of four-time All-Americans, a Major League Lacrosse Goalie of the Year, a Team USA midfielder and a pair of 2014 MLL All-Stars.

A furious rally in the closing seconds fell short as the Bulldogs dealt the Orange a 10-9 upset loss in the second round.

After junior Kevin Rice scored a goal to cut the Syracuse deficit to one with only eight seconds remaining, the Orange’s postseason life hinged on a faceoff—something that hindered Syracuse throughout much of the season.

Somehow, though, senior Chris Daddio won it easily and zipped a pass to Dylan Donahue, who was streaking down the right sideline. After a couple of jukes, he was within 10 yards of the cage and took one final shot.

Kayla Treanor led the women's team past the No. 1 Tar Heels, while Billy Ward scored in double overtime to put the men on top.

Saturday marked a monumental day in Syracuse lacrosse history.

Not only did both the men’s and women’s teams beat the University of North Carolina, but the wins came in front of record-breaking crowds.

After dominating Syracuse on face-offs, everything else fell into place for Maryland in the win.

After months of speculation and discussion, the entire Syracuse men's lacrosse program has to be tired of talking about its problems at the X.

February 16, 2014 - 10:05pm
Henry Schoonmaker scored the winning goal 28 seconds into overtime to keep the Orange undefeated.

Almost a year ago to the day, the Syracuse men’s lacrosse team lost a heartbreaking home opener to the Albany Great Danes in double overtime. But this season, No. 1 Syracuse (2-0) would avenge that loss in about the same way No. 10 Albany (0-1) won last year.
