After undergoing knee surgery, SU center Dajuan Coleman looks to return to action when SU travels to play Marquette Monday night.

Syracuse looks to get some interior depth with the return of its freshman center DaJuan Coleman.

After, a 57-46 loss to Georgetown Saturday night, head coach Jim Boeheim said Coleman should be set to play Marquette on Feb. 25.

"I think he could play now," Boeheim said. "I wanted to give him at least a couple days of practice and just see how he felt. But I really wanted to give him a week or so."

After a scoring spree in the first half, No. 8 Syracuse cruised past the Friars in an 82-59 victory.

Syracuse played like a top-ten team should play Wednesday night, dismantling Providence College, 84-59.

"We had real good patience on offense," head coach Jim Boeheim said. "That first half, you really couldn't play better basketball than that."

In the last meeting between Syracuse and Connecticut in the Big East, the Huskies came out victorious in a 66-58 upset.

The No. 6 Syracuse Orange (20-4, 8-3) was upset by the unranked Connecticut Huskies (17-6, 7-4) 66-58 in a physical game at the XL Center in Hartford, CT

Sophomore guard Michael Carter-Williams led the Orange with 15 points on the night and grabbed five rebounds in a game were Syracuse lost the battle on the boards to the Huskies. UConn outrebounded the Orange 19-16 in the first half and went on to outrebound Syracuse 38-36.

No. 9 Syracuse defeated St. John's Sunday in the Carrier Dome, 77-58, extending the Orange's home win-streak to 37 and giving Jim Boeheim his 16th 20-win season.

The Orange expected a return to offensive efficiency and 3-point shooting with the return of James Southerland on Sunday at the Carrier Dome. Syracuse got what it expected.

No. 9 Syracuse (20-3) used ball movement and unselfish play to get open looks from downtown, hitting those shots at an amazing clip. The offensive fury was too much for St. John’s (15-8) to handle as they struggled defensively throughout the game, ending with a 77-58 victory for SU.

After being ruled ineligible on Jan. 12, Syracuse forward James Southerland won his appeal on Friday and will be allowed to play against St. John's on Sunday.

It was a long, grueling six game stretch withouth senior forward James Southerland.
