The Halloween spirit is in the air with Syracuse Fashion Week's third Snarl fashion show.

It’s not every day that a fashion show opens with little Danny Torrance wheeling down the runway on his iconic tricycle, only to be met by—you guessed it—those ghostly Grady twins and a most unsettling invitation to “come play.”

But this scene from Stanley Kubrick’s The Shining did in fact unfold on a cobweb-covered catwalk in Syracuse’s historic Landmark Theatre on Saturday, for the third Syracuse Snarl fashion event.

Ryan Wickstrand's Zombie Pumpkins celebrates a decade of pumpkin carving concepts.

Some people are completely content with carving the same old triangle-eyed, toothless grinning face into their Halloween pumpkin year after year. Others, however, are up for something a little more challenging.

“By the time I entered my teens, I started to do more advanced carvings with the patterns you find in store-bought kits,” said Zombie Pumpkins owner and lifelong Halloween enthusiast Ryan Wickstrand. “It didn't take long for me to get the urge to design my own, and I never looked back.”

Halloween is upon us, and what better way to spend a lazy afternoon than curled up on the couch with warm apple cider and popcorn to watch some of the greatest Halloween movies and TV shows of all time.

So, we compiled a list of our favorites –- the good, bad and downright corny –- and used them as inspiration to create our own Halloween film.
