Local hair stylist Shannon Fleming takes on Syracuse Fashion Week, again.

When Shannon Fleming was only 11 years old, she did her mom’s hair for her wedding. Now, 27 years later, Fleming is still the go-to person for event hair except the up-dos and color treatments aren’t just for her mom, they’re for runway models at Syracuse Fashion Week.

Stylish shoppers and fashion mavens enjoy a fairy tale fashion show at the While You Were Sleeping event on Sunday to benefit Syracuse City Ballet.

Syracuse’s most stylish and best dressed residents convened downtown on Sunday for “While You Were Sleeping,” a local fashion, shopping and fundraising event.

The event was a collaboration between Syracuse City Ballet (SCB) and Kellie Gingold, the owner of Showoffs Boutique and the main coordinator of While You Were Sleeping.

The fifth annual BLOWOUT fantasy hairstyle fundraiser show entertained crowds at the Landmark Theatre on Sunday.

The theme of the BLOWOUT 2016 show was, “Once Upon a Time”. The competition mimicked a party where characters from various fairy tales such as The Little Red Riding Hood and Pinocchio gathered together on stage.

“It is great for the salons to bring people out and show their creativity as a community event,” said Karin Leary, the assistant at BLOWOUT 2016. Leary said the event is a fundraiser for ACR Health and the Q Center.

The talented student group has recreated the world of the anti-Vietnam War movement and the sex revolution.

What Theatre, Syracuse’s student-run theater group, began with eight architecture students at Syracuse University.

Originally named Warehouse Architecture Theater, the group was formed in 2006 by Danton Spina and Alex Coulombe as a way to provide architecture students a creative outlet besides working within their major.

Hair can cement a person's identity, make a statement or capture the culture of a decade. Photography student Brian Brister interviewed people all around Syracuse with something to say about their hair. We did extensive research to find the most memorable men's and women's hairstyles around.

Syracuse wide receiver Mike Williams has been suspended for the Akron game. SU Athletics press release states: "due to a violation of team rules.”

Halftime Snack has been an ardent fan of all things Mike, including the top wide receiver in the Big East Conference Mike Williams, and spent Saturday longing to see M-Dubz.
