Review: Charismatic rapper GoldLink matched the energy of electronic DJ Trippy Turtle at the semester's first small concert at Schine Underground.
A slowly growing crowd clusters together in front of a small, dimly lit stage, the glare of neon spotlights in their eyes. A DJ puts the final touches on his onstage setup, press people mill about to the side of the stage and the excitement in the air mounts as showtime approaches.
Review: Chance the Rapper's performance in the Schine Underground as part of University Union's Bandersnatch Series lived up to the hype.
He said he was better than he was the last time. Hopefully, everyone was listening.
At 9:03 p.m. on Wednesday, Chance the Rapper stepped on stage. The room was dark, but his lanky 6-foot frame and unpicked afro were undeniably identifiable. When the lights rose and the beat dropped, the crowd went crazy.
The electronic music DJ will perform with Cashmere Cat on Dec. 4 as the last UU-sponsored show of the semester.
The final University Union-sponsored concert of the semester will come from the Bandersnatch Series. Hudson Mohawke and Cashmere Cat will perform at 8 p.m. on Dec. 4 in the Schine Underground. Tickets are $5 for students and staff/faculty only, and they can be purchased at the Schine Box Office.

University Union hosted indie rockers Jukebox the Ghost and Io Echo in the Schine Underground on Tuesday night for this semester's final show in the Bandersnatch Music series.
Despite a late start and a smaller crowd than other Bandersnatch shows have attracted, the show was an incredible experience for those who were a part of it.
Before Jukebox The Ghost took the stage, the crowd was warmed up by the grungier sound of IO Echo.
Up-and-coming Brooklyn rapper Joey Bada$$ kicked off the first Bandersnatch show with support from Dizzy Wright in the Schine Underground on Tuesday March 5.
The headliner came and delivered with a splash, a splash of water that is.
Joey Bada$$ played the Schine Underground on Monday night for a sold-out crowd. The 18-year old Brooklyn native showed a stage presence and connection to fans that only comes with the experience of older artists.
“He is hip-hop’s golden boy,” said junior Carter Sims. “Syracuse students don’t know how lucky they are to get this guy to come so early in his career.”
University Union announced via Twitter Wednesday night that Joey Bada$$ will play in the Schine Underground on March 5.
