For those of you who are not in tune with social media, don’t watch TV, or have been living under a rock, the Mercedes-Benz Spring 2014 New York Fashion Week is underway and lucky for you there are two more days of this fashion madness!
We are five days in to one of the biggest weeks in the Iron Grid City, where designers and models alike are working over time to give the world a little glimpse into what marvelous trends and styles are coming their way in 2014.
Some of America’s darlings such as Diane Von Furstenberg, Tommy Hilfiger, and Donna Karen have already debuted their fabulous spring lines for an insatiable, couture-hungry crowd, and so far there has been both rejoicing (these spring trends are amazing) and depression (we have to wait six months before we can actually wear them!)
Tommy Hilfiger had us day-dreaming of vacationing in Hawai’i, as the models strutted down a sandy runway showing off the brand’s bold color line, filled with floral patterns, strategic crops, and hot monokinis for beach season. It was almost enough to make us forget that winter is only three months away (much fewer for us in Syracuse).
Other designers such as Rebecca Minkoff, DKNY and Mara Hoffman showcased sheer panels and plunging neck-lines proving that a little skin is always in. And when its a bit too chilly for skin, look to these designers for their modern take on the classic trench coat.
