Multiple concert listing outlets are reporting that indie pop band Phantogram will be playing at Syracuse University on April 27.
The band will be playing at SU on the same day as Block Party, the university's major spring concert, prompting suspicion that Block Party's "special guest" is in fact Phantogram. (Disclosure: The NewsHouse played an April Fool's joke a few days ago claiming that the Block Party special guest was Nicki Minaj.)
Announcements for a Phantogram show in April appear on AOL's TourTracker, SongKick, and JamBase.
As of this writing, the only artists University Union has confirmed are performing at Block Party are the DJ Kaskade and indie rock band Cold War Kids.
University Union has not yet confirmed whether or not Phantogram is the special guest (Facebook and Twitter comments have been sent their way), but given Phantogram's appeal (and the fact that anyone else would be stupid or very unfortunate to schedule a show on the same day as campus community's largest spring concert), we now have one pretty good guess. Phantogram played for about 50 people at Funk n Waffles in 2009.
UPDATE (4/5): University Union announced at midnight today that Phantogram is indeed the special guest. Sweet.
