Matt Schneidman

Matt Schneidman is a Senior Staff Writer covering men's basketball for The Daily Orange, Syracuse University's independent student newspaper. He served as Sports Editor for the Spring 2016 semester and interned on the New York Post sports staff this past summer after interning on the USA Today High School Sports desk in the summer of 2015.

Matt is a senior at SU majoring in newspaper and online journalism, where he's covered nine different beats for The Daily Orange. He also held an internship as a beat reporter for the Cape Cod Baseball League's Cotuit Kettleers, where he appeared on camera, radio and wrote daily game coverages. He has appeared on Time Warner Cable Sports live broadcasts, 1410 ESPN Radio in Dayton, Yahoo 1260 The Score radio and Z89 Radio. His writing has also appeared in The Washington Post, the Chicago Sun-Times and he's contributed to Bleacher Report and Lacrosse Magazine.

Matt was one of two students to represent Syracuse in the Hearst Journalism Feature Writing category in 2016 for his story on Syracuse basketball signee Matthew Moyer. Matt was also Syracuse's recipient of the 2015 Jim Murray Memorial Foundation Scholarship and was one of 26 candidates up for the nationwide honor.
