Caitlin Francis is a grad student studying broadcast and digital journalism. She graduated in January, 2011 from the University of Hartford with a Bachelor’s degree in Communication before starting the summer in Syracuse.
Originally from Ellington, Connecticut, Caitlin freelances for her hometown Patch.com site. She has also interned at the NBC affiliate in West Hartford, Connecticut. She’s also interned in the editorial department of the Hartford Courant, the country’s oldest continuously published newspaper, where she helped with election coverage. During her time at the Courant, Caitlin had two op-ed pieces published. Caitlin recently interned at WGGB ABC 40/FOX 6 in Springfield, Massachusetts, and since arriving at Newhouse, Caitlin has written for Democracywise.
Outside of the journo-world, Caitlin enjoys all things food. She also has been dancing since age three, and continues to teach dance classes when she can.
