Carron J. Phillips

Profile

About Me:

Carron J. Phillips (born 1983) is a graduate student at the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications, and hails from Saginaw, Mich.

Phillips graduated from Morehouse College with honors in 2006 with a B.A. in African-American Studies. After graduation, Phillips decided to remain in Atlanta as he worked and took time to map out his next move as an up-and-coming sports writer. After much thought, Phillips decided to attend graduate school at the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University.

Previously Phillips has dabbled in all forms of media including TV, radio, newspapers and online journalism. With sports writing as his true passion, Phillips is also fond of writing racy and entertaining relationship columns. Some of the publications that Phillips has been associated with are: The Maven Report, Black Sports Network.com, Score Atlanta , Marietta Daily Journal and NPR.

Phillips is currently working on launching his own blog that will deal with sports while incorporating his relationship column. He will be working with The Daily Orange, The NewsHouse, The Post-Standard, and hopefully even more publications throughout the school year.
