La Familia de la Salsa

Dance: Join La Familia de Salsa where you will not only pick up some saucy dance moves but some great friends as well.

Who: La Familia de la Salsa began in 2004 as a Salsa/Rueda demo team. It has now grown to one of the largest Latin dance organizations in Upstate New York.

What: La Familia offers classes Monday-Friday at different locations throughout the Syracuse area. Lessons are $60 for a six week series or $50 dollars for full-time students with school ID. Private lessons are available by appointment.

When: Classes are held mainly at night so people can go there after class or after work. Typically their classes are held between 6 p.m. and 9 p.m.

Where: Classes are held at different locations. Some are held at Johnston's Ballybay Bar, Pine Grove Country Club and the Pioneer Health Club. Check their web site to see where classes are held for specific sessions.

Plus: La Familia de Salsa wants you to get comfortable and really enjoy salsa dancing. You DO NOT need a partner (or experience) but just your dancing shoes and a good attitude. La Familia also has social events on the weekends for people to practice their dancing and meet new friends.
