The annual Empty Bowls fundraiser produces 600 ceramic bowls sold at $20 a piece to benefit the Interreligious Food Consortium of Syracuse, N.Y.
Syracuse University students, as well as members of Clayscapes Pottery, Inc., supplied the event with bowls made out of clay donated from Clayscapes Pottery, Inc. "Last year the event brought in close to a thousand people and made over $21,000," said Don Seymour, owner of Clayscapes Pottery, Inc.

I wish I would have known about this! I would have definitely made a trip out to syracuse to buy some bowls! I love pottery and it's even better that this was for a great cause.
Is there any plans to do something like this anytime in the future? (Before christmas? :)) They would make a great present.
